Picket Fence
Describe your house – or the dream house you hope to get some day.
あなたの家、あるいはいつか手に入れたいと思っている夢の家について説明してください。
Picket Fenceとは、家を取り囲む柵のことです。タイトルをクリックすると、他の方の作品を読むことが出来ます。
英文1回目
最初は、このような感じの英文を作ってみました。
My ideal house has 5 rooms and a garden. One of the rooms is used as my workplace. Outside the window, I can see green trees. Sunlight comes calmly into my room. In the room, there are three bookshelves where I can store my favorite books and notebooks. The overall color scheme is white, brown, and green. I also have a big closet room next to the laundry where I can put all my clothes without folding them. Furthermore, I think it is wonderful to grow vegetables that I consume every day because I like vegetables. Therefore, it would also be good to have a small hut where I can process harvested vegetables. I also envision my ideal bedroom. There is nothing in my ideal bedroom except for a bed.
私の理想の家は5つの部屋と庭がある。そのうちの1部屋は私の仕事場になっている。窓の外には緑の木々が見える。太陽の光は穏やかに私の部屋に入ってくる。部屋には本棚が3つあり、お気に入りの本やノートを収納できる。全体の配色は白、茶、緑。また、ランドリーの隣には大きなクローゼットルームがあり、洋服をたたまずに収納することができる。
さらに、私は野菜が好きなので、毎日消費する野菜を栽培するのは素晴らしいことだと思う。だから、収穫した野菜を加工できる小さな小屋があるのもいい。
理想的な寝室もある。私の理想の寝室には、ベッド以外の物はない。
理想の家と言いつつ、普通・・。
それはよしとして、もう少し表現を変えて2回目を作ってみます。
英文2回目
My ideal house comprises five rooms and a garden. One of the rooms serves as my workplace. Through the window, I can see green trees, and sunlight gently streams into the room. Inside, there are three bookshelves where I can store my favorite books and notebooks. The overall color scheme is white, brown, and green. Additionally, I have a spacious closet room adjacent to the laundry area where I can store all my clothes without the need for folding them. Furthermore, I find it wonderful to grow vegetables for daily consumption, as I am fond of them. Therefore, it would be advantageous to have a small hut where I can process the harvested vegetables. As for my ideal bedroom, it contains nothing but a bed.
英文1回目ですぐに出てこない単語がたくさんあり、思い出しながら入れ替えをしました。これを音読することで使える単語も増えるかと思います。何度も音読するうちに現実になると嬉しいですね！
クリエイティブ・ライティング・エクササイズ 2回目の感想
理想の部屋を思い描いてみてください・・と言ってもなかなか思い浮かばず困りましたが、自分にあまり制限をかけずに空想遊びをするのも楽しいと思いました。日本語では照れくさくて言えないことも、英作文ではさらっと書けてしまうのではないかと思います。発想を言葉にするツールとしての、英作文の可能性を感じています。
